UK & Destination Photography

You knew you want high quality wedding photos that embrace core photographic principles and you do appreciate those little differences. You don’t want a happy snapper who can’t explain how they get their results, but an award winning wedding photographer with a clear approach which leads to consistency.

Your photographer must love the challenge of naturally capturing the unique spirit of your wedding day. Your photographs should to be full of energy, fun, tears, laughter, life and beauty .. rather than just people smiling at the camera.

Recording friends and family groups is of course necessary, but an unobtrusive approach to producing sophisticated reportage photographs, plus beautiful and relaxed photographs of the two of you, are more important.

Having fun is a core element of my professional wedding photography and this shines through in the photos I take, as my testimonials show. I achieve my unique incredibly natural reportage results because everyone is comfortable and relaxed around me.

We can all tell when a couple have been told to “pose like this with your hand up there”, right?

Instead, I have fun with couples. Nothing is tricky and my brides and grooms often say they’re not good in front of the camera. I love to laugh along with guests and yourselves too, so I’m never that unknown guy in the corner.

I like to do things a little differently too. I’m the only photographer I know who gives a full set of colour and black & white photos so you can always choose your favourite.

I also take the natural vignette (darkening of the edges of a lens) off my photos and reapply it around the principal subject, to make sure the focus of the photo is where I want it to be.

Here are some of the other lengths I go to to consistently provide high quality professional wedding photographs.

I’m very proud to say that having a thirst for knowledge and attention to detail has resulted in National Photographer of the Year & “Queensberry Bragging Rights” awards.

Do I fit?

I am available to photograph your wedding anywhere in the UK, whether close to me in Manchester or Cheshire, or at your ideal destination wedding abroad.

“Thank you so much for photographing our wedding day. You are amazing. Your pictures captured the true emotions of the day and your attention to detail was outstanding. We couldn’t have hoped for better pictures”Caroline & James

“He was great at putting us at ease for our couples photos, and I know that he was constantly on the lookout for a great shot. At one point, he made sure he took me and my husband outside for a style of shot i’d specifically asked for”Fran & Kevin

Where & what types of weddings?

Whether you’re looking for award winning professional wedding photography close to home at a stunning Cheshire country house, or an urban Manchester venue, a beautiful converted barn or dream of a sunny destination wedding by the beach, I can cover your special day.

I am based close to Warrington, so I cover many weddings in Cheshire or based around the North West of England close to Manchester and in the surrounding counties. Some regular towns include Warrington, Liverpool, Altrincham, Bolton, Blackburn, Preston, Leeds, Tarporley, Chester and Stoke. However, I travel throughout the UK regularly and internationally with destination weddings too. I have photographed as far away as Wales and Scotland and abroad in Sicily and Italy. I’m love to travel.

I’ve photographed at some of the UK most stunning luxury venues too, such as the incredibly lavish Claridges in Mayfair, prestigious Peckforton Castle, gothic Allerton Castle, intimate Inglewood Manor, regal Knowsley Hall, memorable Chatsworth House, timeless Thornton Manor, relaxed Ashes farm and unique Styal Lodge.

When offered to opportunity, I take full advantage of stunning gardens at Kew GardensArley HallIscoyd Park and Coombe Abbey or one-off locations like Nunsmere Hall pier and Lake Windermere. I’m equally at home making the most of extraordinary architecture in urban locations like Great John Street Hotel and Manchester Town Hall.

If you’re looking for a winter wedding photography, I’m very experienced at working with the light on a shorter day and didn’t mind getting my feet caked in snow at Eaves Hall! Whenever I can, I rise to exclusive challenges such as a same sex weddingSteampunk weddingBoho styled wedding, Papakata tent wedding or Chinese wedding.

I also love the unique traditions of Muslim, Hindu and Sikh ceremonies in Asian weddings and am experienced with the traditions of each.

Wedding photographer training

Have you never benefited from training in wedding lighting, posing, post production and building expressions to a high level? Photographers have an infinite amount of ways to ensure their images are everything their customers would wish.

If you’re interested in learning in any area at all, please take a look at my wedding photography training.

Every training session will start with a portfolio review to see where you might need help.

If you’re interested in the techniques I use in my wedding photography and the equipment I use, I have a section just for you.

This includes kit reviews, technical information and the odd bit of myth busting.
