me-400-high (1 of 1)

I love photographing weddings, whether close to my home in the North West, Nationally or Internationally.

Like many photographer, I love the pleasure created when I capture the love, beauty, drama and overwhelming emotion of the most special day in your life.

So what makes me different?

My background is in fashion. That gave me an understanding of how to capture dynamic and striking images and I have taken that experience into my weddings work. My use of flattering lighting and my skill in post-production ensures you get images you’ll cherish forever.

But most of all I get involved. This creates trust and a relaxed atmosphere even when I’m close to you or your guests. I become a friend taking a photo rather than a photographer who is stood in the corner snapping away.

You don’t need to act for me. Just be you.

Being named Photographer of the Year by the Guild of Photographers was a great honour. It is voted for by the Guild of Photographers’ Panel and was a validation of my hard work and dedication to photography in and around Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and beyond.

To win, I had to submit three images every month for a year since the prize is meant to reward consistency as well as outstanding images. The Guild then asked me to become a panel member for a few years to mentor and train newer photographers, as well as judge the competition for future award winners.

I began taking photographs in 2002 when I bought my brother’s old camera. After a year of capturing images of animals and landscapes I moved into fashion and studio work. Five years later, I began to take on weddings – they are now my passion.

Recently I have begun to combine my love of wedding photography and fashion with editorial shoots, such as this one.

I also love to travel. My time on safari in Kenya, in Cuba and on the Inca Trail allowed me to capture some incredible images.

I don’t do competitions any more since I’m busy with customers, but it was a fantastic achievement for me.
