You never really know what to expect on a wedding day; but every so often you come across an opportunity to take an incredibly beautiful photograph and that was the case as the bride entered Rivington Hall Barn for her wedding.. but I’m getting ahead of myself.
Katie & Stephen had their Chinese wedding at Rivington Barn. They had spoken to me before about how important their wedding couples shots where to them and we had made plans to spend more time than usual.
As the groom and his groomsmen arrived, at the house, they were barred from entering by the bridesmaids, who had a few … tasks for them to complete before they were allowed in. I wasn’t quite sure to expect, but drinking vinegar and eating chilli off noses certainly hadn’t entered my mind. Obviously the girls found it hilarious!
After a very tough entrance, the bride and her father were presented and all was forgiven as they made their way to Rivington Barn for the wedding ceremony.
It was there when I was aware of the opportunity to take an incredibly beautiful natural light photograph of the bride coming down the aisle. I asked Rivington Barn to change the lighting slightly in order for me to achieve the photograph which I wanted and they were only too happy to help.
As the bride walked down the aisle I was incredibly happy to see the photograph coming together, despite significant technical challenges.
Their civil ceremony was also incredibly beautiful and I was impressed with the venue dressings; great job!
Soon after, they were man and wife officially and they were joined by their guests outside for some beautiful looking canapes before some fun photographs with the bridal party.
And now on to the fun!
Finally it was time for the couple and I to make our way around the grounds and take advantage of the incredible Rivington Barn surroundings for their wedding photographs. We had such fun but soon they were ready to take the next step of the day; to join friends and family at Glamorous restaurant in Manchester for speeches and a 12 course banquet.
It was an incredible day from start to finish, and I won’t forget the extra effort that the groomsmen went to to in order to enter the house in the morning!
