I’m very proud to announce that I was awarded the Guild of Photographers top prize for 2010 - “Photographer of the Year”.
To win, 3 of my images every month for a year were marked by the Guild panel. This competition is meant to judge consistency and I scored the largest ever number gold wins in a year, which was a fantastic achievement.
Joining the Guild panel
Since then, the Guild have asked me to join the panel in order to judge, mentor and train other photographers. It’s been a great opportunity to develop newer photographers and promote quality within the photography profession.
As a judge I will no longer be eligible to enter the competition.
My photographic journey
I began taking photographs around the year 2002 by buying my bother’s old camera. I grew inquisitive about how certain effects could be achieved. I quickly upgraded to another camera which allowed me more creative options.
After a year of photographing animals and landscapes, I became interested in fashion photography and bought yet another camera and some studio lighting to allow me to follow a new path.
After another 5 years I started wedding photography in order to expand my abilities with people photography. Since then weddings have become my passion and I’ve been introducing elements of my fashion photography lighting into wedding photography.
